Lent March 3

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.  Matthew 8:20.  Based on a drawing from an old out of copyright book, The Standard Bible Story Reader.

  1. Love your scripture paintings. They are good art and good teaching material for church. Do you have opportunity to use them that way?

  2. Thank you all so much! Sometimes I wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew with a commitment of this size. I thought Lent was realllllyyy long when I gave up chocolate for it one year, but when I stop to think of how many more days I have left… Oh, my! Thank goodness for all the supportive, friendly people out there in cyberland and my loving family who cheer me on in my insanity!!

Ramona- I haven’t really thought of my Lenten Journal in that light. To be honest, I don’t even think of my sketches as being good enough for showing anyone outside of the EDM crowd where everyone is so gentle and kind to amateurs like myself. However, I think it would be nice to encourage a church class to keep their own version of an illustrated spiritual journal. That isn’t such a great leap out of my comfort zone since we homeschool and I’ve helped the kiddos keep illustrated journals/sketchbooks.
